Overview

The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the Corporate Accounting team, responsible for driving the month-end close and reporting processes. This position plays a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial initiatives for our outpatient addiction treatment setting. In addition, the position provides unique exposure to an active M&A integration environment, offering opportunities to support the integration of acquired businesses, streamline processes, and contribute to the successful transition of newly acquired operations.

Responsibilities

  • ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL REPORTING:
    • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP
    • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the team adheres to deadlines to reach close timelines
    • Drive the creation of financial statements, including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flows
    • Support financial audits by preparing documentation and liaising with external auditors
  • FINANCIAL ANALYSIS:
    • Perform variance analyses and support internal stakeholders in understanding financial performance on a monthly basis
    • Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
    • Assist in the creation of weekly cash forecasting, gaining valuable treasury experience in a hands-on environment
  • TAX COMPLIANCE & STRATEGY
    • Support the preparation and filing of tax returns, including sales/use and property taxes
    • Ensure timely and accurate tax payments while maintaining compliance with all filing deadlines
    • Support tax-related audits or inquiries from government agencies, preparing documentation and responding as needed
  • INTERNAL CONTROLS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:
    • Maintain strong internal controls over accounting processes and financial reporting
    • Identify opportunities for automation with Company tools such as Claude, Alteryx, and Co-Pilot, and increased efficiency in financial operations
    • Participate in the implementation and refinement of accounting systems and tools
  • KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Self-starter, willing to take initiative and identify potential solutions to new problems and challenges
    • Consistently demonstrates professionalism and gracefully manages conflict, setting an example for staff
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, LeaseQuery) and advanced Excel skills.
    • Adaptable and agile within a dynamic work environment

Qualifications

  • EXPERIENCE
    • Required
      • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting setting
  • EDUCATION
    • Required
      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA license required.
