Certifying Scientist

This role is for a Certifying Scientist with two or more years of experience and will be qualified as testing personnel under CLIA. The Certifying Scientist is responsible for the quantitation of LC/MS/MS data and final review of patient-related data reports for toxicological examinations of target compounds and metabolites.

• Perform final review and certification of patient reports following established protocols for urine testing, utilizing LC/MS/MS confirmation testing methods
• Review calibration curves, quality control (QC) data, and analytical results for accuracy and acceptability
• Transmit completed data analysis to the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
• Participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, CLIA, and other applicable agencies
• Communicate observed analytical or instrument-related issues to appropriate personnel and provide input on maintenance needs and corrective actions
• Participate in quality control, quality assurance, and quality management activities in accordance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements (CLIA, HIPPA, TJC, etc.)

• Education
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
    
    
• Experience
  • (Minimum) At least 2 years of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience
  • (Preferred) Experience with Shimadzu 8040, 8045, and/or 8050 series LC/MS/MS instruments
  • (Preferred) Previous experience performing LC/MS/MS data review
