Accounting Intern

This role offers hands-on experience across a variety of accounting functions, including assembling tax filings and processing payments, contributing to the month-end close process, preparing account reconciliations, generating month-end financial statements, and performing detailed balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L) analytics. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

• MONTH-END CLOSE
  • Drive close tasks for various process areas such as goodwill, intangibles, prepaids, and leases, including booking of journal entries in Sage Intacct (ERP)
  • Participate in close meetings to discuss status of areas and any roadblocks hindering completion of tasks
  • Prepare account reconciliations for assigned accounts, tying back subledger detail to general ledger balances
• FINANCIAL ANALYSIS:
  • Analyze month-over-month fluxes and provide detailed explanations supporting the change in balance for both the P&L and balance sheet
  • Assist in the creation of monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows
• TAX COMPLIANCE & STRATEGY
  • Support the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales/use, and property taxes, in partnership with third party tax vendors
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax payments while maintaining compliance with all filing deadlines
  • Assist with tax-related audits or inquiries from government agencies, preparing documentation and responding as needed

  • Self-starter, willing and eager to learn new processes and how an accounting function operates
  • Strong foundation of Microsoft office skills
  • Adaptable and ability to pivot to other tasks as assigned by Management

• EDUCATION
  • Required
    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Interest in a career in accounting or corporate finance following graduation
