Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Undergraduate Clinical Intern to join our dynamic team at BrightView Health. This internship offers an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of behavioral health and counseling while making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. Under the guidance of experienced clinicians, interns will actively participate in various aspects of client care, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly patient lists for medical testing, including follow-up testing as required by state guidelines.
  • Assist medical professionals in scheduling exams and monthly appointments.
  • Assist clinical staff with patient assessments and clinical follow-up.
  • Assist administrative staff with clerical duties and assignments as necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of all office supplies.
  • Maintain and organized and sanitary work environment.
  • Provide input into overall treatment program philosophy, treatment services,  and patient care.
  • Ensure the maintenance of quality patient care.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with patients.
  • Report any work related injury or illness, or workplace hazard or security issues immediately to supervisor.
  • Responsible for complying with all federal, state and local regulatory agency requirements.
  • Responsible for complying with all accrediting agencies.

  • Adhering to BrightView policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information.
  • Relating and applying knowledge acquired in the academic setting to BrightView facility and patients.
  • Preparing for and utilizing meetings and other opportunities of learning afforded at BrightView.
  • Being consistent and punctual in the submission of all work assignments to the supervisor.
  • Providing the supervisor with progress reports when requested.
  • Technologically capable, comfortable operating in multiple systems for communication and documentation purposes. Familiarity with MS Office software (Outlook, Teams, Word, etc) preferred
  • Embraces BrightView’s culture of compliance - operates with a high degree of integrity and compliance to work standards and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and 42-CFR Part 2 desired

Qualifications

  • EXPERIENCE
    • Preferred: 2 years or more of general work experience – must have some customer service experience and/or clinical experience.

 

  • EDUCATION:
    • Required: Highschool Diploma & currently enrolled in an Associates or Bachelors Degree program.
    • Preferred: Bachelors Degree in related field
