Overview

This role is for a Laboratory Supervisor with two or more years of industry experience and qualified under CLIA as a General Supervisor. In addition to preparing and analyzing toxicology samples, the Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for training new staff, organizing the work of others, and processing/certifying instrument data.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for analysis
  • Set up and run analytical instruments including system suitability, calibration, and QC.
  • Monitor performance of analytical instruments
  • Process data, accept and certify results
  • Train and supervise new staff
  • Organize work and equipment across team for best efficiency
  • Perform advanced instrument troubleshooting and repairs
  • Make calibration, QC and other solutions
  • Maintain compliance documentation
  • Participate in housekeeping and other general tasks
  • Demonstrate and promote Brightview values
  • Observe and promote safety practices
  • Be a team player and maintain a positive attitude towards work.
  • Working knowledge of instrument and LIS software platforms (LabSolutions, SLS, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of analytical instruments (Shimadzu 8040 LCMS, Synermed IR1200, etc).

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and tasks
  • Ability to use micropipetors and other laboratory equipment
  • Comfort with working with human urine and other biological matrices

Qualifications

Required Education/Degree:

College degree in chemistry or related science: BS/BA, at least two years of related clinical toxicology experience

or

Associate’s with at least four years of experience.

Required Certification/License:

CLIA qualified as general supervisor, ability to pass a drug test and background check

Required Work Experience:

Depending upon degree: 2-4 years of related clinical toxicology experience
